Vintage 18 Kt Gold Thimble Uihlein Schlitz

This is a beautiful 18K gold thimble which belonged to Mildred Anthony Uihlein - married to Henry Uihlein II of the Schlitz Brewing family see:

For more history - this thimble has a beautiful basket weave as well as engraving on the base - it is a size 9 and weighs .4 oz on a postal scale
It is my understanding that Mildred was an excellent quilt maker and her quilts were donated to Cornell Uninversity
I had a difficult time capturing the beautiful gold color as well as the detail - tried different backgrounds - the black give you a good idea of the color - the maroon gives a much better idea of the detail however the thimple looks silver which it is'nt the gold reflection made it difficult to show the amount of detail
